Constipation is caused by the lack of roughage in the diet. Roughage is necessary to retain enough water in the focus to keep them soft and easily moved by peristalsis in the colon and rectum. Roughage is provided by plant matter(cellulose). Therefore an unbalanced diet which does not have sufficient fruits and vegetables to provide roughage can lead to constipation.
Obesity is a metabolic disorder which refers to the accumulation of excessive fat in the body. Obesity results from eating more food than is needed to supply the body. An unbalanced diet which includes a large amount of fats and carbohydrates may lead to obesity.
